To post in this board, follow this format:
Thread Title: Label your thread with the title of your potential article.
Article - Historical Showoffs
Premise: Start with the premise you were considering for the article. In this case, Historical Showoffs would be a humorous piece about people throughout history who were known for showing off in strange ways. Most entries should contain a few facts about the person, include jokes, and focus on the who/why aspect.
Entry 1) Beethoven used to play one-handed to show off during parties.

Entry 2) The inventor of the modern lobotomy toured the world in a 'Loboto-mobile', and duel-wielded ice picks whenever he performed lobotomies. He also took photos of himself in post-loboty poses, which eventually resulted in the death of a patient. In total he lobotomized over 3,000 people.

Entry 3) Ned Broadwell is hired in 1905 as a "Rainmaker" by religious/moral groups who want to shut down auto racing. Supposedly these men could make it rain wherever they loitered, which would muddy the track and close the race down.

Notes: Here is where I would include personal notes about the direction this article would take. Reasons I didn't finish it. Which site-category it would best fit. Other potential resources for a future article. And jokes I may have already written about the entries listed above.
Note: All articles must include source links.
If you like a post you find in the Idea Bin, simply respond in the author's thread that you'd like to work on his idea. This will alert the author and anyone else that you're already tackling the subject. They do not need to respond back. Everything in the Idea Bin is first-come first-serve.
