Whether it's your first time playing a new tabletop system, or your first time with any RPG, this is an easy article to write and everyone can have a crack at it. Here are some things to think about when you're getting ready to tell your tale:
Expectations - Did you think you were attending a Satanic ritual? A nerd retreat? A LARP? Were you overwhelmed? Did you invent scenarios in your head about how you would impress the group?
Meeting the players - Who did you game with? Did they match the stereotypes of gamers? Were you intimidated? Were they welcoming?
Getting into character - Did you pick a character, or was it assigned? Did you try to roleplay something foreign to you right off the bat like a pixie barbarian? Or did you pick a fairly normal race/gender? Was there a power fulfillment?
What made you stay - Power fantasy? The social interaction? The box art?
Moral - Try to wrap it up with a moral. Make a callback to your first paragraph. Talk about why tabletop games are valuable, and the lessons they've taught you. Or talk about why gaming has led you straight into the hands of a murderous comet-worshiping cult. The last paragraph, the moral, will determine how the reader feels about your article once they've clicked away to another site.
